dr Piotr Kędziora

Piotr Kędziora (PhD), assistant professor at the Institute of Cultural Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University (Faculty of Anthropology and Cultural Studies), author of the book Ambient. Cultures of Listening and Ways of Using Sound (2024), co-editor of monograph Musical Cultures – Cultures of Listening (2020) and Mediated Culture. Media Studies from a Cultural Studies Perspective (2010). His research interests include listening as a cultural practice, the anthropology of music, sound epistemologies, sonic methodologies, and independent and DIY music scenes in relation to experimental, drone, and ambient music. He is a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in the project Polish Ambient Music and Its Creators (2023) and AMBNT_SND on virtual environments of immersive music in cross-sectoral art-based research (2024). Member of the Polish Cultural Studies Association and the British Forum of Ethnomusicology.
