dr Patryk Lichota
Patryk Lichota is a musician, composer, improviser, radio producer, and curator. He holds a degree in culture studies and musicology from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He is a Ph.D. at the Theatre and Media Art Institute in Poznań, and teaching students of the program Interactive Media and Performance, film post-production at the University of the Arts Poznań, and the Academy of Art in Szczecin. He is a member of the Humanities /Art /Technology Research Center AMU, as well as the artistic director and producer of the festival of improvised music FRIV.
He composes music for theatrical productions and radio drama while creating multimedia installations as well. He composed music for films by Izabela Gustowska (2014-24) and Transandino, Pierogarnia by Kasper Piasecki, and Marathoner by Huyn Suk Choi. Member of kakofoNIKT band. Creator of the Fonoleptic live video project, and author of music videos and visuals for concerts, theater performances, VR spaces, and AR applications. Creator of the experimental video game “Datafixation” presented at the Ars Electronica Festival 2022. Scholarship holder of the Visegrad Foundation at the National Tsing Hua in Taiwan. Creator of the BEELOCATION project using advanced sonification of movement, which was presented on concert tours in Japan, Taiwan, Norway, Morocco, and Spain. Creator of the MAY TOWN exhibition designed in virtual and augmented reality for the Schaubühne Lindenfels theater. His scientific work deals with virtual reality and telepresence, cybereschatology, interactivity, sound art and sound design, theory of new media, and video games. Author of the scientific books: “Traditions of Noise in the Sound Art” (2015) and “Transpositions of Presence in media art – From Telekinesis to Telepresence” (2020).
